Windows Personal Doctor is a new Malware infection released on March 8, 2012.  This infection is similar to Windows Tool Patch, Windows Safety Tweaker, and Windows Managing System.  These Malware infections are very intrusive, we refer to them as hostage infections.  The malicious nature of this new infection is to show fake scans and alerts in an attempt to get the user to purchase their fake software.  These scans are run each and every time the computer starts up.  Windows Personal Doctor will attempt to rewrite the customer’s registry with corrupt files so it has control over the computer, thus allowing fake scans and alerts to appear at anytime. 

After corrupting the registry, these infections limit the user’s ability to run legitimate software like Malwarebytes, Spyware Doctor, and AVG.  It’s very important when attempting to remove this infection that it’s done in Safe Mode with Networking.  This will limit the affect of the infection and allow you to install some specific software.  We will walk you through these specific steps on the next page.
