How does AV Guard Online enter your computer?

Now the question to be focused upon is how did this infection get on your computer in the first place? These fake Antivirus programs get into your system automatically through malicious websites, and what usually leads users to such websites are stolen tapes, celebrity gossips and rumors, infected adult websites and other stuff similar to this. Moreover, this infection is installed in your computer without your knowledge and consent.

While browsing you must have come across various security alerts stating that the website you are visiting is malicious. This, however, is because AV Guard Online configures Windows to use a Proxy Server which does not allow your requested web pages to load and will in turn intercept all Internet requests.

There is also a possibility this infection may terminate most of the programs that you are already running or attempting to run. The Windows taskbar will show you a security warning indicating that the program is infected when you attempt to execute it. Step by Step Removal Instructions for AV Guard Online 

1. Start Windows in safe mode by rebooting your system.  You can do this by rebooting your system and hitting the F8 button on your keyboard upon reboot.  After hitting the F8 button, you will see a screen that says, ‘Advanced Boot Options’ or ‘Windows Advanced Windows Menu’.  Arrow down to where it says ‘Safe Mode with Networking’ and hit enter.  You should now be in safe mode.

2. Start Internet Explorer and go to Menu > Tools > Internet options. Click the connections tab and select LAN settings.  In the LAN Settings, go to proxy server and uncheck “Use Proxy Server for Your LAN”.  Now your browsing should be resumed without the interruption of AV Guard Online.

4. Save the file to your desktop (this will make it easy to find).

5. After you see the file saved to the desktop, close all open windows and applications running on the computer.

6. Locate the Malwarebytes file on your desktop and run it. (the file name is called mbam-setup.exe)

7. Once the installation starts, the options Update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware should be left checked. (this will make sure you get the latest version of Malwarebytes upon installation)

8. Malwarebytes will now launch.  Once you see the Malwarebytes interface, go ahead and Perform a Full Scan.

9. After the full scan is complete, you can start the removal process of AV Guard Online.

10. Click the Remove Selected button and allow Malwarebytes to start the removal process.

11. After the removal process is done, close or x-out the Malwarebytes interface.

12. Reboot your computer; you have successfully removed AV Guard Online from your system.
