Smart Anti-Malware Protection is a new rogue virus released on February 3, 2012.  This rogue infection is almost identical to Antivirus Smart Protection, Internet Security Guard, and Home Security Solutions, the number one difference is the name of the infection in the upper left hand corner of the interface.  This particular infection is transmitted through rogue websites, SPAM email, infected executables, free download sites, and other vulnerabilities in out of date Windows Operating Systems.  After your computer is infected with this fake antivirus, Smart Anti-Malware Protection will display fake scans and show you alerts and warning messages that your computer is infected with numerous viruses or infections.   These alerts and warnings are 100% fake; the computer is not infected with these noted viruses or infections.  It is an attempt to get the user to purchase the fake software.

What is Smart Anti-Malware Protection

Smart Anti-Malware Protection is a rogue Malware infection designed to trick users into purchasing fake software.  Along with tricking the user into purchasing fake software, some of these infections come bundled with rootkits (hidden files that are very difficult to locate and remove) and keyloggers (programs designed to take snapshots of your every keystroke and screenshots of your computer). 

Once this infection is installed onto the computer, it will start displaying the following warnings, “Warning! Access Conflict Detected!“, “Memory Access Problem“, and “Warning! Virus Detected”.  Remember, these warnings are fake.  Please ignore these warnings and alerts and follow our instructions on the virus removal page to get rid of this infection.  We recommend removing this infection as soon as possible to limit the damage that can be done by these types of infections.
