System Check is a fake application categorized as a rogue Malware infection.  This new infection is similar to System Fix and Data Repair which are of the FakeHDD type of infection.  This infection will run fake optimization and PC performance scans on your computer.  These scans are not real, they are only a tool to try and get users to purchase the product.  System Check is programmed to launch upon start-up, it does so by embedding an executable or certain files into the registry of the computer.  This infection gets onto the computer through vulnerabilities or holes in the operating system.  After this infection is removed, it’s extremely important to keep the computer’s security settings as up to date as possible.

System Check will show the following alerts once it’s on the computer, “Critical Error! – Damaged hard drive clusters detected.  Private data is at risk.” and “Critical Error! – RAM memory usage is critically high.  RAM memory failure.”  Again, these are 100% fake alerts, neither of these warnings are true.

What is System Check

System Check is a rogue malware infection which mimics a system optimizer or registry cleaner.  It runs fake optimization scans which always result in fake alerts.  This infection promises to speed up your computer, but it will not speed it up or optimize the computer.  System Check can cause your computer to crash, run slow, and stop legitimate programs from downloading.  Please do not purchase this program as its only goal is to steal your credit card information.  If by chance you did purchase this fake infection, please call your credit card provider or bank institution to have the charges reversed.
