Remove Windows 7 Security 2012

Updated: December 26, 2011

Windows 7 Security 2012 is a new rogue infection that identifies which version of Windows you have installed on your computer.  This infection is of the same variant of Windows 7 Home Security 2012, Windows Vista Antispyware 2012, Windows Vista Internet Security 2012, and Windows Vista Home Security 2012.  If you have Microsoft Windows 7 installed as your operating system, you will see this specific infection (see illustration below).  This infection will attempt to attach rootkits (rootkits are invisible files that attached to the kernel level driver of your computer, these very harmful files are difficult to remove) and other harmful files to the operating system.  Windows 7 Security 2012 does have the capability to block legitimate removal software from installing in normal mode.  Our research team has classified this infection as Rogue Anti-Spyware / Rogue Anti-Malware.

What is Windows 7 Security 2012

Windows 7 Security 2012 is what we classify as a rogue Malware infection.  This infection attempts to trick the user into purchasing its software by showing fake warning signs and fake alerts.  These fake warnings are constant until the user purchases or has it removed from the computer.  Note: Do not attempt to purchase this infection as it can steal your credit card information.  Please call your financial institution if you did purchase this infection.

We highly recommend removing this infection from the computer as soon as possible.  The longer this infection stays on the computer the more damage it can do to the computer.  It can corrupt files, slow down the PC by using all its system resources, and possibly crash the computer.
